The MI Square Smart IP Camera is the result of another crowdfunding project from Xiaomi.This 5 cm² IP camera is presented to double as an action camera, although it needs an external power source.
Beside being a full featured IP camera with 1080P resolution, 110° wide view, IR-Cut, night vision and 8x digital zoom, it also supports time lapse and is designed to work on the go. The camera can operate as a standalone Wi-Fi access point and a power bank can be used instead of the 5V/1A power supply. It sticks to any metallic surface, or to another MI Square, with its magnetic base.As part of the original features is the possibility to combine 2 cameras in order to increase the viewing angle from 110° to 180°.
The Mi Square can also react to specific sound patterns, like a smoke detector alarm (it's not specified if it works only with the hard to find Xiaomi Home kit)
Xiaomi MI Square can be pre-ordered at Gearbest and will start shipping on the 3rd of January 2017.
