Wanscam K21 is finally fully compatible with Synology Surveillance Station

8/03/2020 10:52:00 AM 0

...or maybe I should say that Synology Surveillance Station is finally fully compatible with the Wanscam K21.

In my initial review, I noted that the K21 would be detected by Onvif Device ManagerIP Camera Viewer,  OnviferAnycam.IO and HappyTime, but not by Synology Surveillance Station.

In the latest version 8.2.8-6334 of Surveillance Station, Synology included a fix (that was developped in December last year!) which allows to capture the full functionalities of the Wanscam K21 as an ONVIF device.

This change is likely to benefit other Onvif cameras that failed to work sith SS8 before.

The Wanscam K21 can be found below 30€ at Bangood

The latest system update for Lenovo TB-8703F improves Play Store compatibility

12/16/2017 05:19:00 PM 1

Shortly after publishing my review of the Lenovo Tab3 8 Plus, I noticed that Google+ appeared as "not compatible with my device" on the Play Store.

Well, good news: a 29MB system update was released via OTA on 12/12/17, and it does resolve this problem.

There might be more fixes included but I didn't notice any obvious change.

After almost 3 weeks of regular use, the Lenovo TB8703F has confirmed to be a great value and this update just made it better.

Adding RTSP stream in Synology Surveillance Station got easier!

3/15/2016 03:22:00 PM 8

A major improvement in Synology Surveillance Station came in almost unnoticed (at least from me) since the release 7.1-4056.

For years, users have begged Synology to implement a way to add RTSP URL's.

The reason: most P2P entry-level IP Cameras don't come with an HTTP server anymore.

Synology has finally granted our wish!
