Following the feedback on the updated firmware released a month ago, I took the liberty to send a recap of the remarks and suggestions to Foscam.
As before, they replied almost instantly and once again with some great stuff!
First of all, a newer firmware already!
the 11.14.1.43 and Web UI 2.4.8.12
(superseded by fw 11.14.1.46)
The obvious changes are:
- a colourful login page
- the ability to scan for available wireless networks:
- an option to turn off the activity led (Network Lamp)
...and a log of the visits!
While this nice update is definitely an added value to the camera, there seems to be a small problem: to me none of the settings can be validated from the server push mode page.
For instance, if I clear the tick box for the camera lamp, after the reboot, I'll find the option selected again (and the camera led still on). This is open to your feedbacks. Once confirmed it is not just me, I'll report this to Foscam.
The ActiveX interface still works fine for storing the settings, but if you have no IE to setup your camera, you may want to skip this firmware release until a fixed one comes out.
One more thing: there is no improvement for the uPnP option, that never worked for me.
Technical Documentation:
There is now an official Foscam CGI SDK documentation available.
I've put all this on a dedicated firmware page also.
Third Party utilities: Some compatible monitoring applications are detailed in this previous post.
Evolution:
- HTTPS implementation is planned for a future update, possibly this year.
- FI8908W cameras (black or white) produced since June 2009 have an additional audio connector.
- The units in production from this month include an improved lens filter (more accurate colour rendering).
Is your camera from Foscam ?
If you plan to use the firmwares on this site, you need to ensure that your camera is from Foscam.
If your camera looks like a twin of the Foscam camera discussed here, it may still be from another manufacturer and a Foscam firmware may brick it.
If your camera is not a Foscam, it's not the end of the world as it may be of a comparable quality with as many features but you should then obtain the firmwares from the appropriate manufacturer.
Here are a few details that can help identifying your camera origin, and it's not fool proof unfortunately:
Packaging: From official source, Foscam packaging of fi8908w is always red and white as shown, and exhibit a picture of the older fi8901w on the reverse side.
But... This is the least reliable way to identify a compatible Foscam camera:
there's been reports of cameras with the same box that were not from Foscam, as well as cameras in different box (like the white one below) that could be successfully flashed with Foscam firmware!!
The User Interface: With that said and since not all the shops display the box, another clue is the look of the web interface. The login page of the newer firmware above is a bit more colourful but the rest remains mostly as described here.
But... not all the resellers will show a sample picture in their description.
The stickers on the base: Obviously, if you were expecting to buy a Foscam in particular, you can only check this point once you actually bought the camera but it's an ultimate check point that may save your camera from a catastrophic firmware update.
In the example below, the labels on the base of the camera will show subtle differences:
On the Foscam:
- There are 2 round stickers, one with QC/OK and the other one, show the manufacturing date and a warning "warranty void if damaged".
- There are 2 rectangular stickers: one with
MAC ID: xxxxxxxxxxxx
User name(default):admin
Password(default): (blank)"
and the other with the FCC standard compliance and "Made in China"
There is no other sticker, and no Model or S/N.
Below is an example of a non-Foscam base (click on it for a close-up):
If you buy on DealExtreme, check their forum for recent posts about ip cameras and don't rely too much on the product page itself as product descriptions on this site is traditionally inaccurate.
Finally you can also consider contacting Foscam with a maximum of visual details to positively identify your camera origin before flashing it with anything from this site.
Below is the warning published on Foscam's web site:

Did anybody tried to upgrade EasyNp FS-613A-M136 with Foscam firmware?
I cant get firmware update for my FS-613A-M136, seller from china wants my camera back by post to update it!! Please if anybody have new FW to share it somewhere.
MareS
@Tihana
The last firmware of Foscam doesn't work with FS-613A-M136 (tested in my cam). For this reason I posted my last message :P
Hi,
Just got my Foscam clone. I emailed the ebay seller (Dealexcel) who confirmed it os a szcapital (??) camera not Foscam. As I wanted to access it via Mozilla on my Linux netbook, I asked for the latest f/w for this camera.
He/she sent me two bin files (called system_11_14_1_46.BIN and ui_2.4.8.12.BIN). These look like Foscam naming convention - yes???
I loaded these, but it made no difference other than resetting the time details in the camera. The firmware details via the IE browser show the f/w is still 11.14.1.34 and 2.4.8.9. At least it didn't brick it.
I am confused now. What do I do next.
Well I've got it working now. I made the mistake of trying to load the files from within a zip file I was sent and via the web browser. When I tried again after extracting the two files from the zip file and via the ipcam s/w on a PC then successfully managed to upgrade both the firmware plus the UI.
I can now use the 'Server Push Mode' with firefox on both Vista and Linux. yeah!!
The UI looks very much like one posted at the top of this thread so I assume these are the pucka Foscam f/w files I am now using on my Foscam clone. :-) !!!!
Hi Bubbah, you already helped me in the past...
I have 4 foscam cameras in my lan.
IP camera tool can detect just one cam at a time: I have always just 1 line in the camera list.
Why?
The problem is that the same happens in the web browser: I have to reload the page many many times before the camera is detected.
Any help??
Thank you!
@Ale,
could it be that you have got some of those counterfeit Foscam (like those sold on Dealextreme.com) which all have the same Wifi MAC address ?
You should try for a test to have one wired, and another one wireless. Would they both appear in IP camera tool then ?
@Bubbah
I have all of them on wired LAN!
They appear one at a time on Ip camera tool. I have never seen two of them togheter!
What kind of software do you use for recording motion detection?
:-)
@diseñografico
check the post on "Third-Party software for Foscam IP Cameras"
Hi .I also need the 4_3_3_39.bin firmware.Roadrunner pls. upload again :).Also,anyone have the device firmware for EasyNp FS-613A-M136 (last version seems to be 4.23.2.5) ( 4.3.3.39 is the Device Embeded Web UI)
Hi I also have the "FS-613a-M136" digital camera, could someone send me the latest firmware and Web Gui?
E-Mail: lol31@gmx.de
or they can upload to a rapidshare?
THX
how do you reset the camera i tried to push the reset button but it dont reset i lost my admin and password so i wanted to reset the can and make a new one up my model number is NC511 so if someone could advise, thank you
@lou
Try: keep the reset button pressed while powering the cam. Do not release until the camera starts rotating
Hi Bubbah,
I downloaded latest firmware for my FI8908w (fw11.14.2.17) and tried to update my camera with it. Foolishly, I did it over my wireless network (didn't know it won't work). I don't believe my camera is bricked... even though, since after the update I can not log into my camera configuration page, the green light on the camera is flashing, it's not constantly lit.
Is there any way to log into the configuration page now ? I don't understand, why this firmware update would change it's IP. I did few other updates without any problems in the past. I know I screwed up with updating it over the wireless network, but I truly hope there is a way to make this beauty work again. Are you aware of any method that might help ?
Thanks again
I fixed it! For some reason, Device Embeded Web UI was completely erased from the camera, and I used IP camera tool using Parallels (Windows XP) on Mac. It asked me to update/reinstall WEB UI which I did. In less than 2 minutes, camera was up and running. This beauty is alive again! :)))

I finally solved the problem with my FS-613A-M136 (Clone Foscam) with Foscam firmware following the steps in http://www.gadgetvictims.com/2009/12/bring-your-fi8908w-paperweight-back-to.html and the correct firmware. In the next days, I'll prepare a manual with the lastest firmware for Easynp FS-613A-M136
I did buy a Maygion... the firmware is crappy and the china man developer of it promised tot make it work right... never did. I am one unhappy Maygion customer.
This is a manual to recover a EasyN FS-613A-M136 (in disaster cases) with last firmware

I hope you'll find useful it
@Oskys,
Great guide actually, I added a link to it on my own recovery post!
Cheers!
@Bubbah
thanks :)
Just to throw in some new things here about the new firmwareon my Foscam FI8905W. These functions are NOT yet documented in the CGI SDK 2.1.
There seems to be a new P2P mode or something like that. Try http://[yourcamip]/get_p2p.cgi and http://[yourcamip]/set_p2p.cgi
These functions do NOT exist in the WebUI from 27/7/2010 but do exist in my 100% foscam camera.

How to ip cam reset?
Contact : 09501241280
Hello! A month ago bought clone on FI8908W from DX and everything was OK! After replacing firmware with ver. 11_14_2_17 disappeared Web UI. Try in IP Camera Tool to add it to deliver message "Error file of Web UI" or "Refused by the camera"
I tried to reset the button at the bottom but does not help. Visible camera work turns up when you turn, connects to the router. Is there a solution?
Thanks!
Just a note to say I got a genuine Foscam F18918W from amazon-sell on ebay and very quick. Camera all working but some difficulties in the setup, and its locking up when using WiFi (WAP+PSK) and accessed via IE. Using IP Cam View on Android and that's good except no audio support until buy full version (fair enough).
Overall good, but the Foscam utility is a bit flakey.
I just got a ipcam which I though it was a Foscam. It was sad that I didnt read this blog before order it and I determine just by the specification and it just look similar. However, the firmware version is not following what I read from here. It was (sys_ver='21.22.2.19'). Since the original web interface is simply unacceptable, I take some risk and flash the webUI with foscam one and now it is (app_ver='2.4.8.15'). And it accept the new webUI and thus I have this unit running with foscam UI. My question is, can it be confirm that this unit is compatible with foscam firmware? I still want to update the firmware as some of the function like preset location is not supported in this firmware and I think the loaded firmware is quite old. Or are there any ways to tell if this is a compatible model?
@Alain Ho
the safest is to contact tech@foscam.com with your DeviceID (appears in device status page) so they can confirm what fw update you can apply. They usually reply quite fast.
@Bubbah
Too bad. I got answer from Foscam that my ipcam is a Clone FI8908W and they said Foscam cannot work with clone camera. But I saw quite a lot of ppl here flash their clone with Foscam firmware. What should I do.......
Witam,

Disable IR vision:
I got my camera and I can not turn off the infrared. How to fix this malfunction?
I was having problems uploading via FTP to my server for two reasons, which left my scratching my head for some time, but one problem was apparently a too-complex password and the camera's directory understanding. Perhaps it's made by people using Windows only so it isn't so flexible?
Any FTP user's password with anything beyond alphanumeric characters did not work and relative directories would not work either; even if the user's home directory is where the captures will be sent, ./ will not work but the full name must be used /var/www/... or /home/.../ etc.
Hopefully this helps someone.
Well, the note that fake camera should NOT have S/N is a bit wired. I have bought two cameras from eBay seller telstorehk. The box is red+white and reads the following:
Please check the S/N on the bottom of the camera when you open a giftbox. If you find there is no Foscam sticker, or the sticker was removed, please put the camera back to the giftbox, and return the camera to the seller you bought it from. For camera FI8918W-black I have S/N starting from FIK120, for FI8918W-white I have S/N starting from FIK121.
@ BuBBAH do you know a firmware for the real foscam FI 89 08W which have CRYPTING TLS FOR the mailing smtp
